As a skateboarder, whether you are a beginner or an expert, the thing which you have to face is the choice of the skateboard drive when you choose your skateboard. Generally speaking, the belt connects a wheel to an outrunner motor with a system of belts and gear pulleys. The belt drive system limits free rolling as there is a significant amount of resistance added due to the pulleys, which makes it harder to kick-push. Maintenance surrounding the belt drive such as belt changes due to wear or tear, belt-tensioning, and belt alignment might also scare away people who aren't necessarily mechanically inclined. The belt drives deliver better torque than equally priced hub systems. This also allows for a wider selection of wheels to swap to and from. Plus, some people like to get creative with their setups and belt drives allow for more creativity in that department.hem in your backpack at a moments notice.

After learning the pros and cons of the belt electric skateboard, you can start to choose your own belt skateboard. At present, except for Boosted, the high-end belt electric skateboard brand, the top ten belt skateboards on the market are as follows:

The Yecoo GTS electric skateboard, with eight layers of Canadian maple, is extremely flexible and can bear 330 pounds. The crawler has a rough layout and no handles, so be careful not to hurt your hand. The real feature of this skateboard is its wheels, which means it has two sets of wheels - PU wheels and all-terrain wheels - Yecoo's main recommendation for dual-use. Yecoo offers a replacement set of tires. The 6-inch off-road tires are silicone non-inflatable tires, so I don't have to worry about punctures and repairs. The soft silicone material is very comfortable to ride. I gave it a try and it was comfortable to ride. Yecoo GTS has a dual purpose and is known as urban off-road. The 83mm PU wheel is suitable for streets, and the 6inches off-road wheel is suitable for roadless roads, lawns, hilly roads, and mountain roads. We can change the wheel quickly in two minutes. GTS designed a sealed bottom housing. The controller box and the battery box are packaged together. The two cold light tubes on the battery case change direction and speed as the skateboard moves. Dual 1000 watt motors provide powerful power and high speed. And the motor outside does not directly contact the ground, of course, there is no wear. High torque, deceleration ratio of 1:3, strong supporting force. This remote can be used for two-way drive and is very sensitive to boot. Be careful when you break because it will break suddenly. Besides, without turning the skateboard, after turning the electric wheel for a few seconds, the skateboard will start automatically. If you forget to turn it off, don't worry, it will turn itself off. GTS is a very good electric skateboard, excellent performance, beautiful design, high-cost performance, street, and all-terrain two-in-one mode. The Teamgee H20T's wheels have never been seen on any other electric skateboard before. They are 103mm, airless, rubber, wheel tire hub motors with a contact area of 65mm. The last thing I want to say about wheels is that there are holes in the rubber that surround the whole thing and it seems strange to me at first. But I realized that the holes felt a bit like suspension. They absorb a lot of vibration from uneven surfaces and make you very comfortable to sit on.

Teamgee has developed the strongest deck on an electric skateboard. It's made of a composite of maple and fiberglass, which makes it pretty hard, but the spongy wheels more than make up for that.

The acceleration is smooth and gradual, and the brakes bring you to a safe stop without any shaking. For heavier drivers and at high speeds, the brakes can be a bit too long, so make sure you're always driving at a speed where you can brake safely.

Deck has a unique design, unlike any other electric skateboard on the market.

Pros

Wheels can handle less-than-perfect terrain

Well priced

Ideal for commuting

The Exway Flex is arguably one of the best commuter electric skateboards available today. It has a flexy concave deck with raised shoulders to sit your feet to give you special control. In addition, the foam grip tape at the top of the deck absorbs much of the vibration from the road, making your ride more comfortable. The comfort of the deck is accompanied by 85mm 76A wheels, which are soft to the sweet point of comfort without losing too much performance, such as top speed or acceleration.

The Flex is the first Exway product to come in handy if you want to take longer (or longer) than your usual ride. Range anxiety is no longer present in group rides. The belt-driven Flex version, which they call "Riot". Riot has more power and grunt, which means better hill climbing and acceleration, but you also need to maintain the motors and change the conveyor belts. It's hard to blame Flex for its nature. It's not the fastest electric skateboard, nor is it the furthest. The flexibility of the deck is not for everyone, and yes, you have to pay for extras such as apps that not everyone wants or needs.

Both the Riot and Hub versions of Exway Flex are great skateboards, and you'll soon love them. From the moment you take it out of the box, you know it's made of high-quality components. But it's not until you use it for the first time that you really start to understand how incredible Exway Flex is.

Top Speed 25 mph / 40 kph

Range up to 20 miles/ 32 km

Nice waterproof

You could get a second battery to add to your range

Cons

Backfire Zealot was the first electric skateboard to use a belt-driven motor. In the past, they have always chosen hub motors. The wheels are Backfire's own 96 mm 78A polyurethane's that are huge and spongy. They are comfortable and can easily climb over any crack in the road. In addition to Zealot, Backfire released a compatible 105mm Cloudwheels if you want to be more comfortable and able to ride on bumpy roads such as gravel paths. These huge wheels, when it comes to sliding, they're just a bit too big and clunky around. The great thing about belt-powered eboards, however, is that you can easily swap your wheels for something more slippery and friendly. Backfire is also launching a mobile App that will be compatible with Zealot and all of their other electric skateboards that use an LED screen remote control. The remote control will record your cycling history. It has some cool ambient lighting on the side of the battery case below the deck, which doesn't really help you see, but it does make it easier to see you in the dark, which has been a popular safety feature. In a word, Backfire Zealot is a well-made and excellent belt electric skateboard.

Top Speed An exhilarating top speed of 28.5 mph gets you there faster.

Range Travel up to 28-36km / 17.5-22miles (80kg rider S mode 30km/h speed flat road).

The Ownboard W2 is characterized by its low price and still impressive properties. It comes with a Hobbywing ESC, which many other eBoards as Wowgo and Backfire also use. This ESC is special because it allows the eBoard to accelerate and brake more smoothly and ensures better control which has been mentioned  above. The quite powerful engines of Ownboards W2 are the most significant change compared to the previous model (W1S). With the double belt drive the W2 eBoard can reach a maximum speed of up to 42km/h (26mph). The acceleration is slightly slower than in the comparable Boosted Board but the maximum speed of Onboard's W2 is higher and brings with it the Boosted Board quickly back on. Given the price difference from Ownboard W2 Boosted Stealth this is more than a fair compromise. In addition, the Ownboard has W2 sufficient torque to even gradients of up to 30% to cope with. At a belt driven electric skateboard, the motors are mounted outside and transfer the power through belts and gears to the wheels. Thereby, the electric board has more torque with better transmission ratio with the same power. In addition, solid rubber wheels will be used, which allows for better absorption of shocks. Another advantage resides in the interchangeability of the rollers, whereby different role types and sizes may be used. A maximum range of up to 25 km is ensured by the large lithium-ion battery with Samsung cells. It was not saved at the wrong point, because the use of high-quality battery cells with counts among the most important criteria to determine the quality of an electric skateboard.

The Ownboard W2 deck consists of 2-layer bamboo and 6-layer of maple and measures 38 * 9.05 inches. The integrated handle, it is also perfect for carrying and for daily use. Especially a lot of flexibility receives this electric skateboard by its flex design and solid rubber wheels, which is why the driving experience is really great. How much flex for personal driving style, however, is optimal, also depends very much on the individual characteristics and preferences of the driver. When the axis is indeed to standards, and this is perfectly adequate. Also included is a LED backlight, which is a particularly useful feature especially for "Night Rides”.

What are the advantages of belt electric skateboard?

The general belt electric skateboard is more powerful. If your road condition is not very good, you can choose the belt electric skateboard. Belt electric skateboard has the following advantages:

Higher torque: Belt drive allows input gears on the motor and output gears on the wheel. Changing the size of these gears will change the torque multiplier available to the motor, just as a car's transmission changes the torque available to the wheels depending on which gear the transmission is in. Having said that, hub motors aren't as much of a disadvantage as you might think of them. Due to changes in the motor's internal design and electronic speed controllers, newer boards on the market have optimized their hub motors to be extremely competitive and provide similar levels of torque without the use of gears and belts.

More wheel options: Belt drive plates always have more wheel options than hub-drive wheels. Since the motor is separated from the wheel, it can stay on the board, and you have a wider range of compatible wheel types. Hub motors require that you replace the entire motor/wheel or the polyurethane sleeve on the hub motor.

Better heat dissipation: Belt drives connect the motor to the truck and are open to circulating air as you ride. This provides better heat dissipation compared to hub motors insulated by polyurethane rubber bushing.

What are the disadvantages of the belt electric skateboard?

Loud: Belt drive boards are almost always louder due to the nature of their design. The belt itself will make some noise, as will the exposed motor. In the hub drive plate, the motor is wrapped in thick polyurethane rubber because it is enclosed in the wheel. Rubber not only provides road grip, but also makes excellent sound insulation. This makes most electric boards quiet, at least compared to belt drives.

Requires more maintenance and parts replacement: belt-driven boards require belt replacement approximately every 300-600 miles, depending on the board manufacturer. Exposed belts are also susceptible to dust, sand, and rogue pebbles that can occasionally cause them to break. Replacing them isn't too bad, but there are a few things to know. However, a broken belt will make you walk home.

It's hard to ride without battery power: once the battery dies, the belt drive is almost impossible to push. This is because the gear drive provides a favorable lever when the motor is running, but amplifies the motor's friction when it is not running. So when the battery runs out, there's a lot of motor friction, which makes pushing the cart home a daunting task. You'll probably have to.

How can I make sure my electric board is more durable?

You can do a lot of things. The user manual is one of them. The other is the weight of the Kanban so it doesn't overload the board. Finally, you need to store your board properly so that you can minimize damage, including surface scratches.

The cheapest scooters only need to be replaced when the battery runs out or the charging system breaks down. However, these are usually classified according to the issues that your warranty can address.

What other factors should you consider when buying an electric skateboard?

Range: If you plan to use a battery board for your daily commute, make sure you buy one that has the range you need before you need to recharge. If you only use the board occasionally or when traveling, it's a good idea to know what the surfboard can withstand so you know when you need to duck into a nearby cafe and charge for a cup of coffee or face the road back to your hotel.

Top speed: Many boards tend to have a "beginner" and a "pro" mode to adjust the maximum speed the board can reach. If superfast is important, look at top speed. Some can reach 22 miles per hour, which doesn't sound fast until you find yourself standing on a board with the world whizzing past you.

Weight: A skateboard is A means of transportation from point A to point B, but that means you'll need to have it with you when you arrive at your destination. This might mean carrying it up a flight of stairs, onto a train, to the mall, etc. You might also carry it in your backpack, so it's important to pay attention to the weight of your electric board.

Board length: Longboards are good for stability and absorb road conditions better than shortboards. The shortboard is shorter and it's more portable, so it's more convenient.

Charging: Most people who board planes tend to keep their chargers with them "just in case." Unlike phone chargers, circuit board chargers can be big and bulky. It's also useful to know when to recharge, so you can plan your trip based on how long it takes to recharge your miles.

Other technical factors: torque, motor number, watt, transmission ratio, hub motor, truck, hub type are all items that hardcore drivers want to investigate and compare. If planks are your primary means of transportation, you'll need to do more research on these elements.
